BEA Editors Buzz Titles Announced

On Tuesday, BookExpo America unveiled the titles to be featured at this year’s Adult Editors Buzz, Young Adult Editors Buzz, and Middle Grade Editors Buzz. The books’ authors will also make an appearance on BEA’s Author Stage.

BEA Reveals Four More Breakfast Speakers

This week, Chelsea Handler, Diana Gabaldon, Wally Lamb, and Octavia Spencer were added to the list of breakfast speakers for BookExpo America 2013.

BEA Announces Cheaper, Alternative Accommodations for 2013

BEA Show Director Steve Rosato has unveiled plans for an alternative option to expensive New York hotel rates for trade show attendees. Rosato expects to open reservations next week for a block of 120 dorm rooms at Barnard College at the rate of $115 per night.

Hotel ABA Reservation Deadline April 1

This year’s BookExpo America hotel exclusively for ABA member booksellers — the Grand Hyatt New York — offers single and double rooms at the special nightly rate of $255, plus tax (currently 14.75 percent) and a $3.50 per night occupancy fee. The rate is available on accommodations from Monday, May 27, through Sunday, June 2.

This year’s hotel exclusively for ABA member booksellers attending BookExpo America 2013 is the Grand Hyatt New York, located at 42nd Street and Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Booksellers who make their reservations before April 1 will be automatically entered into a drawing for free hotel nights, courtesy of BEA.

BEA Changes 2013 Show Dates

On Monday, BookExpo America announced that its 2013 conference and trade show at New York’s Javits Convention Center will take place one week earlier than previously announced.
