Are there children’s books that you just can’t wait to handsell this spring? Now is the time for indie store owners and staff to nominate their favorites for the Spring 2013 Kids’ Indie Next List.
Carol Chittenden of Eight Cousins has launched an initiative to help Bellevue Hospital in New York City rebuild its Reach Out and Read program, which lost thousands of books in Hurricane Sandy. The program serves approximately 11,000 underprivileged children a year.

Now in its third year, Take Your Child to a Bookstore Day is bigger than ever. On December 1, bookstores across the country will be welcoming children and parents with author visits, storytimes, and giveaways.
ABFFE will launch an online auction of original children’s art on November 27. The week-long eBay auction will feature work from leading artists and book illustrators.
