Between Small Business Saturday and the Thanks for Shopping Indie and Kobo Mini promotions, many ABA members were reporting increases in holiday weekend sales and a renewed sense of appreciation for locally owned businesses among their customers.
ABA member stores that sold the Kobo Mini for $49 during last weekend’s Black Friday/Small Business Saturday promotion must report their sales by next Friday, December 7, to receive Kobo’s $30 rebate for each Mini sold.
As ABA members began receiving their shipments of Kobo eReaders earlier this month, a number of stores launched creative and personalized promotions to spread the word to customers.
ABA is warning stores participating in the Kobo partnership that there could be unintended negative consequences to using a third-party e-mail service when distributing promotional links to customers.
