Booksellers have just a few weeks left to register for ABA’s IndieCommerce Institutes to be held on September 19 in conjunction with the SIBA trade show in New Orleans and on October 2 in conjunction with the NCIBA trade show in San Francisco.
For those who are preparing to open a bookstore and those who have just opened their doors, The Bookstore Training Group of Paz & Associates is offering its final workshop retreat of the year from Monday, September 9, through Thursday, September 12, on Amelia Island, Florida.
New and prospective booksellers will have the opportunity to learn about the many different aspects of the bookstore start-up process and the ongoing operations necessary to achieve financial sustainability at upcoming workshops facilitated by The Bookstore Training Group of Paz & Associates.
At each of this year’s fall regional trade shows, the American Booksellers Association, with support from the Small Business Majority, will be offering a timely and informative educational session on the Affordable Health Care Act.

To receive the early bird rate for ABA’s upcoming IndieCommerce Institutes, booksellers must register before the end of this month. Two IndieCommerce Institutes are being offered: on September 19 in conjunction with the SIBA trade show in New Orleans and on October 2 in San Francisco in conjunction with the NCIBA show.
Registration is now open for IndieCommerce Institutes to be held in San Francisco and New Orleans in conjunction with the fall regional trade shows. Each institute will feature two breakout tracks: a Main Session that will address the needs of most users and an Advanced Seminar appropriate to very experienced users.
ABA will be offering an IndieCommerce Institute on September 18 and 19, just prior to the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance Fall Show in New Orleans, and on October 1 and 2, before the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association Trade Show in San Francisco.
