In addition to learning how to maximize their websites, booksellers at last week’s IndieCommerce Institute heard from representatives of Kobo and Ingram about ABA’s new e-book solution, open to all member stores.
ABA has announced the presenters for the Events Specialty Institute’s four breakout sessions and three roundtable discussions. The institute will be held on October 3 at The Depot in Minneapolis.
ABA will open registration for its eighth annual Winter Institute on Thursday, September 27. Wi8 kicks off in Kansas City, Missouri, with an opening reception on Friday, February 22, 2013.
There are still a few openings for booksellers who are interested in attending ABA’s first-ever Events Specialty Institute, on Wednesday, October 3, at The Depot in Minneapolis, Minnesota, just prior to the Great Lakes and Midwest independent booksellers association’s Heartland Fall Forum.
Here is a look at the ABA Events Specialty Institute sponsors, the authors who are participating in the opening reception, and the senior publishing publicity executives who will take part in a lunch-time discussion of best practices for raising a bookstore’s profile with publishers.
At the Heartland Fall Forum and the NEIBA Fall Conference, both from October 3 - 5, ABA will be presenting the education sessions “E-Books and Independent Bookstores” and “Meeting the Literacy Needs of Your Community.”
ABA will be at the September 28 - 30 New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association Fall Conference to share the latest details on Kobo, the new e-book solution for member stores, meet with booksellers about their concerns, and provide updates on association programs and initiatives.
Booksellers looking to learn more about maximizing their IndieCommerce websites have until August 31 to register for September’s IndieCommerce Institute.
