ABA’s first-ever Events Specialty Institute will bring booksellers from around the country to Minneapolis for a full-day of education on Wednesday, October 3. Since registration opened last week, the response from seasoned booksellers and those in need of more introductory-level courses has been strong.

Booksellers who would like to take part in ABA’s second IndieCommerce Institute must register by next Wednesday, August 22.

ABA will be at the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance’s September 7 - 9  trade show in Naples, Florida, to offer an e-books education session and to meet with booksellers to hear their concerns and to share updates on ABA’s programs and initiatives.

The Bookstore Training Group of Paz & Associates will present the workshop retreat “Owning a Bookstore: The Business Essentials” from Monday, September 10, through Friday, September 14, in Amelia Island, Florida (near Jacksonville).

ABA opened registration today for its first-ever Events Specialty Institute. The one-day educational program offering a range of topics for both seasoned booksellers and those in need of more introductory-level courses will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Registration for ABA’s second IndieCommerce Institute, which opened last Wednesday, will close on August 22. To help create an engaging and interactive learning environment, participation is capped at 100 booksellers with a maximum of two attendees per store.

An upcoming intensive workshop facilitated by Paz & Associates offers an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of essential aspects of independent bookselling and to establish a tangible competitive advantage. 

The American Booksellers Association announced this week the opening of registration for the second IndieCommerce Institute (ICI). The program will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2012, with a reception on the evening of Wednesday, September 12, and opportunities for hour-long one-on-one sessions with IndieCommerce staff on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning, September 14.
