ABA board members and staff will be at this Saturday’s SCIBA Authors Feast & Trade Show to provide updates on new programs and initiatives, including the Kobo eBook solution and the Thanks for Shopping Indie multi-publisher promotion.

ABA will be at next week’s Northern California Independent Booksellers Association and Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association trade shows to present the education sessions “eBooks and Independent Bookstores” and “Meeting the Literacy Needs of Your Community.”

As booksellers head to the fall regional trade shows, World Book Night U.S. has been posting video highlights of this past April’s celebration in different regions of the country on YouTube. Added this week is video of celebrations in California, just in time for the Northern and Southern California trade shows this month.

At next week’s  Heartland Fall Forum and New England Independent Booksellers Association Fall Conference, ABA staff will present the education sessions “E-Books and Independent Bookstores” and “Meeting the Literacy Needs of Your Community.”

Booksellers will be able to learn more about Kobo, ABA’s new e-book solution, available to all member stores, at an ABA education session next Saturday at the NAIBA trade show and at the ABA booth on the show floor.

ABA staff will be at the Southern California Independent Booksellers Association Authors Feast & Trade Show on October 20 to present education sessions, listen to booksellers’ concerns, and share updates on ABA’s programs and initiatives, including the new ABA/Kobo partnership.

Beginning this Saturday, California consumers who shop at Amazon.com will notice a big change when they go to the checkout page to pay for their orders: the online retailer will be collecting sales tax on their orders.

ABA staff will be at the mid-October shows of the Northern California Independent Booksellers Association and the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association to present two education sessions: “E-Books and Independent Bookstores” and “Meeting the Literacy Needs of Your Community.”
