The Association of American University Presses and its members are inviting independent booksellers to join in celebrating the second annual University Press Week, to be held from November 10 through 16.

The October 2013 edition of the ABC Group Common Core Resource is now available to all ABA member booksellers with a BookWeb user name and password. The sortable Excel file features 900 Common Core-compatible backlist titles.

The 2013 ABC Best Books for Children Catalog has started arriving at ABA member stores. A PDF version for websites and newsletters is also available.

A special promotion offers ABA membership to used bookstores for just $100, half the annual price of used bookstore membership, if stores sign up before December 31, 2013.

ABA has teamed up with Biblio.com to offer a new affiliate program that enables member stores to give their website visitors instant access to millions of used, rare, and out-of-print books from more than 5,000 independent booksellers worldwide.

ABA will be presenting its second Children’s Institute, hosted by the ABC Children’s Group at ABA, on Monday, April 7, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas. Participants will be welcomed at an opening reception on Sunday evening, April 6.

Next Tuesday, August 20, is the deadline for ABA member bookstores to place their orders for this year’s ABC Best Books for Children Catalog. The full-color, 20-page consumer circular featuring close to 200 fully vetted frontlist and backlist titles is slated to be in stores in early October.
