Booksellers should register now to secure seats for Wi12’s Bookstore/Publisher Tours, IndieCommerce Institute, Leadership Workshop, Advanced Education Sessions, and Finance Seminar.

The upcoming Winter Institute, in Minneapolis, is made possible by the generous support of Ingram Content Group, the event’s lead sponsor, and additional support from 85 publishers large and small.

Registration is now open for Winter Institute 12’s Bookstore/Publisher Tours, IndieCommerce Institute, Leadership Workshop, Advanced Learning Sessions, and Finance Seminar.

Friday is the deadline for booksellers at ABA member stores that did not have a Winter Institute scholarship winner in 2015 or 2016 to apply for a scholarship to the 2017 Winter Institute.

Registration opens November 1 for Winter Institute 12’s two Advanced Education Sessions for store owners and managers: “Understanding and Fostering Your Store Culture” and “Managing Managers.”

Next Tuesday, November 1, registration will open for Winter Institute 12’s Bookstore/Publisher Tours, IndieCommerce Institute, Leadership Workshop, Advanced Learning Sessions, and Finance Seminar.

The Bookstore Finance Seminar at Wi12 will explore the fundamentals of budgeting, cash flow analysis, business financing, bookkeeping, and financial statements.

A full-day workshop offering a crash course on the essentials of opening a bookstore or buying an existing store will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017, just prior to Winter Institute 2017.

With the 2017 Winter Institute now almost booked to capacity, booksellers who are interested in attending are encouraged to register as soon as possible and then contact ABA Meetings and Planning Officer Jill Perlstein regarding hotel accommodations.

Registration for ABA’s 12th annual Winter Institute is now very close to capacity; booksellers who have not yet registered are encouraged to do so now even if they are unable to secure a room at the host hotel. ABA is working aggressively to secure additional hotel rooms.
