Registration for the American Booksellers Association’s Eighth Annual Winter Institute has reached its limit of 500 booksellers, and names are now being added to a waiting list.
If you’ve registered for Winter Institute 8, and made your hotel reservations at the Westin Kansas City at Crown Center, now’s the time to book your travel arrangements. American Airlines, Delta, and Amtrak are offering discounts on travel from February 16 - March 2, 2013.
The Eighth Annual Winter Institute is now more than 90 percent booked, and ABA is strongly encouraging members who want to attend to register as soon as possible.
The 2013 Winter Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, is made possible by the overall support of the Ingram Content Group, Wi8’s lead sponsor, and the support of more than 40 large and small publishers.
For the second year in a row, the Winter Institute will feature “One Institute, One Read,” an initiative that encourages booksellers to read and discuss a title chosen by ABA for its insight into the culture and character of the event’s locale.
Registration for ABA’s Eighth Annual Winter Institute has already reached more than 290 booksellers representing over 150 member stores. Wi8 registration is capped at 500 booksellers with a maximum of three registrants per member business to ensure a dynamic yet intimate educational program.
Registration for ABA’s Eighth Annual Winter Institute is now open. Wi8 kicks off in Kansas City, Missouri, with a reception on Friday evening, February 22, and continues through Monday, February 25, with more than 25 education sessions for booksellers at all levels of experience.
For the third year, Workman Publishing is sponsoring the Joe Drabyak Frontline Fellowship to the Winter Institute. The fellowship provides airfare, lodging, and the meal fee for one bookseller to attend Winter Institute 8 in Kansas City, Missouri, from February 23 - 25, 2013.
