ABACUS

This yearly members-only survey gathers valuable information that can help you improve your bookstore’s operations…and bottom line. Input from hundreds of ABA members like you results in valuable data that help ABA establish the benchmarks recommended for stores to improve business operations and profitability. ABACUS also provides valuable insight for ABA's ongoing education curriculum. And all participants receive a personalized report!

Booksellers can participate in the 2008 ABACUS survey by submitting their store's financial data in a convenient -- and totally secure -- online survey form. Completing the survey should take no more than an hour -- and all information provided is kept strictly confidential.

The 2007 ABACUS Review is now available to all ABA member bookstores. (Read about the survey in Bookselling This Week.)

ABACUS is a powerful tool for evaluating and improving a bookstore's financial performance, and for helping in key strategic business decisions. All booksellers that participate in the ABACUS survey receive a detailed, customized report comparing their store's performance with that of other stores based on multiple criteria -- and a $50 ABA dues rebate check.

Very many thanks to all the booksellers who participated in the 2007 ABACUS survey. Watch for updates on the 2008 survey.
