Going live with your new account: Ready to switch from ABA's shared Authorize.net Account to your own
1. Set up your new account at http://reseller.authorize.net/application/?id=5553923 . This must be completed in advance.
- Once you have your new account, you will receive an email from Authorize.net to activate your account. Please activate your account before proceeding.
2. Contact ABA (Chanthee Keokhaw at ext. 6653) to schedule a day to make the switch.
3. Configure the Fraud Detection Suite filters for your Authorize.net account (if you opted for this service). If you need assistance with that, please let us know. This can be done prior to the actual switch.
- Contact Authorize.net to help you place a test transaction to confirm that the processor information is correct.
4. All pending credit card orders must either be completed or cancelled, as these authorizations cannot be imported into your new account. For this to happen you must do the following:
- Disable wholesaler fulfillment temporarily (store preferences page). After an order is sent to Ingram for fulfillment, it usually takes 3-4 days for us to get an invoice from Ingram, and complete the order. So, this should be done 3-4 days before the switch.
- Disable ebook fulfillment temporarily (store preferences page). This can be done on the day you plan to make the switch.
- Disable Credit card payment method, while your staff is taking care of existing credit card orders. For this period of time, customers will not be able to use credit card as a payment method. You could post a message on the home page to let your customers know.
5. When all the existing credit card orders have been taken care of, we will change the settings on the Authorize.net payment gateway module to use your account information. For this we will need the 'API Login Id' and the 'Transaction Key' for your gateway account. You can find this information through the merchant interface for Authorize.net. Please do not email this sensitive information. On the day of the switch we will call you and get it over the phone.
6. Once you have been switched over to your own Authorize.net account, you should enable credit card payment method, enable ebook fulfillment and wholesaler fulfillment (if applicable). Our recommendation would be for you to place a test order to confirm the changes are working (see instructions,'Steps for Testing your own Authorize.net Account').
