The weekly Indie Bestseller List is a reflection of independent tastes and your handselling expertise. In order to keep this list going – to have the indie voice heard, to bring attention to favorite authors, to stay relevant in the halls of publishers and the minds of authors, and to create indie bookstore buzz in-store, in print and online – we urge all members to report sales to the list.
It’s easy, it’s confidential, and the rewards are many. Just follow these steps:
- Choose one of the three ways to report.
- ABA manual entry - enter your top sellers by hand
- ABA file upload - upload a simple file from your POS system
- BookScan via your POS - Contact Rachel Ehrentreu at BookScan for details, and to sign up.
Here are instructions for some compatible POS systems:
- Pick a convenient time to report weekly.
The report should include sales occurring during the week beginning 12:01 am Sunday through midnight Saturday.
- If reporting via ABA manual entry or ABA file upload, transmit the weekly report no later than 3 am EST each Tuesday, via the ABA reporting site. The reporting site opens each week at midnight Saturday, EST.
- If reporting via BookScan, transmit the weekly report no later than 10 pm each Monday.
