There are different ways to display the promotional sale information to your customer.

Creating a Page with a Book List

If you would like to create a page where all of the titles can be made available for purchase, follow the instructions below:

1. Go to: Create Content > Page

2. Give your page a title, and enter any copy about the promotion in the 'Body' field of the page (don't forget to switch the 'Input Format' to 'Rich Text Editing' if you are adding any formatting to your text, or any additional images.)

3. Scroll down to 'Book List' and enter the 'eISBN' for each of the selected titles (make sure that there are no additional spaces in the field or the system will not pull the product listing.)

4. When you need additional book list fields, click the 'Add another item' button at the bottom of the section.

5. Save your page.

Once you have your page created, you may also want to highlight the page to the customer. This can be done in a variety of ways:

1. Under 'Publishing Options,' select 'Promote to Front Page' to bring the content to your landing page.

2. Create a prominent block that links to the page.

3. Add the page as a menu item.

4. Send a newsletter that links to the page.

Creating a Block that has book covers linking to listings

If you prefer to create a block that links directly to the listings, please follow these instructions (you will want to have two windows open, one for the promotion page, and one for your site):

1. Go to: Site Building > Blocks > Add, and then give your block a name

2. Underneath the editor, change the 'Input Format' to 'Rich Text Editing' (if you do not do this, your images will not appear.) 

3. On the Book listing, click 'Copy Image Location' on the cover image.

4. On your site, click the 'tree' icon in the 'Image URL' field, and paste your cover URL.  Click 'Insert.'

5. Your image will then display in the editor, click on the image, and click the 'Add Link' button (the chain link icon, which is located next to the 'paste' icon.)

6. Create a link to the listing on your site, the path is ebook/eISBN (Replace eISBN with the actual eISBN provided.)

7. Repeat for each book you wish to display, and save your block.

8. Once your block has been created, it will be located in the 'Disabled' section of the blocks page.  Use the dropdown menu, or drag your block to the location of your choice, and save the changes.

Some users may wish to set up the covers using a table to organize the content.

What to do if promotional pricing is incorrect

Users may experience a delay of 24 to 72 hours between price changes on kobobooks.com, and directly on IndieCommerce sites.  While prices are generally correct on affiliated sites, if the price is listed incorrectly on your website, some may hesitate to click the "Buy eBook Now" button.  In the event a price lag occurs, it may be helpful to include a message that informs the customer that the final sale price will be calculated upon checkout.

If the promotional price is incorrect on kobobooks.com 24 hours after the sale has started, please feel free to email kobosupport@bookweb.org, and we will alert the appropriate parties to the error.
