Reauthorizing Credit Cards
There are two scenarios that will require a credit card to be reauthorized:
- The order has been edited, and the new total is now greater than the original amount (orders adjusted to a lesser amount can simply be marked completed, and the system will only charge the new lower balance.)
- The order has been left open for more than 3 weeks, and the original authorization has expired (if you attempt to complete the order, the system will return a 'Transaction cannot be found' message.)
In order to reauthorize the credit card, click the 'charge' link in the credit card payment box. If you do not see the 'charge' link, but see a 'Process card' button instead, you are operating on our older system, and may prefer to review this PDF for help.

After clicking on the 'charge' link, you will be taken to the page below:

Click 'Charge Card.' If the card is approved, the order will be moved into Payment Recieved, change the order to Completed to finish the order.
If the new authorization is rejected, the customer will need to be contacted for an alternate method of payment.
(This could be because the card is expired, the customer has hit their credit limit, or their bank has very strict fraud protection.)
