Selecting a Theme

IndieCommerce sites contain over 50 different themes of varying styles and flexibility.  Some have many block regions, with color options and layout configurations, while others rely more on content to customize, rather than settings in the theme itself.

If you'd like to create a more customized look and feel, this can be done.  We suggest doing a local install of Drupal 6, and then once you have the theme close to being ready, simply zip up the files, and email it to staff@bookweb.org.  We will then set up an SFTP account to access your theme directory and make the final tweaks.

It is also possible to modify the style sheets of existing themes.  Since we are operating on a shared network, in order to access the theme files, we first need to make a copy of the theme you would like to use, and then we can set up SFTP access.  Simply email staff@bookweb.org with the name of the theme you would like to use to begin the process.

Keep in mind, ABA does not provide technical support for editing the CSS of the theme files.

Tip: If your site is currently live, and you would like to experiment with the new themes behind the scenes, check 'enabled' (not default), on the theme you would like to try.  Then, go to the 'My Account' edit page, and set your  'user theme' to the template you would like to try.
