Indie Next: Booksellers RecommendThe American Booksellers Association has partnered with Matchbook Marketing for the free Indie Next List e-newsletter program, which sends the monthly adult Indie Next Lists, the every-other-month Kids’ Indie Next List, the quarterly Reading Group Guide, and the yearly Gift Guide to your customers. The e-newsletters feature your store’s logo, a special message from your store, and buy links that direct back to your website.

Booksellers should visit the Matchbook Marketing Indie Next List page now to:

  • Sign up to send the Indie Next List e-newsletter to their customers
  • Continue sending the Indie Next List e-newsletter to their customers as part of the program formerly managed by Shelf Awareness

To sign up for the free program, booksellers will need to upload their store’s subscriber list and logo on the Matchbook Marketing Indie Next List page.

In April 2021, ABA streamlined and updated the Indie Next List program, including a logo refresh, newly designed e-newsletters, shorter bookseller quotes, adjusted title counts and schedules, and easier-to-read printed pieces for the adult, kids, and reading group Indie Next Lists.

Stores can track email-generated traffic and sales using analytics tools like Google Analytics. Stores can see the list of tracking codes, linked from Matchbook’s Indie Next List page, and filter analytics by each newsletter’s unique code following each mailing.

Questions can be directed to [email protected] or Matchbook Marketing’s Gwyn Ridenhour.

See how to download your contacts lists from Constant ContactMailChimp, and HubSpot.
