Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

As always, the ABA Member Lounge at BookExpo America will be the exclusive place for booksellers to relax, have a snack, and meet with their colleagues from across the country. This year’s lounge, which returns to Meeting Room 214 at the front of the “200” aisle on the trade show floor, will also feature exclusive author meet-and-greets and signed galleys, a reception with Indies Introduce authors, information on ABA programs and services from affiliated business partners, and one-on-one meetings with IndieCommerce staff and/or with ABA Senior Policy Analyst David Grogan.

Booksellers who are interested in setting up an appointment to meet with a member of the IndieCommerce team can do so via a form on BookWeb.org; those interested in discussing public policy issues should send an e-mail to Grogan with their preferred meeting times.

The lounge will be open to booksellers with ABA member badges as follows:

  • Wednesday, May 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (closing at 3:00 for the ABA Annual Membership Meeting and Town Hall)
  • Friday, May 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The schedule of authors autographing in the lounge can be found here; the reception for the newest crop of Indies Introduce authors will be on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Service providers who will be represented in the lounge include: LIBRIS, the ABA insurance program; Kobo; the Book Industry Charitable (Binc) Foundation; W.G. Ellerkamp paper company; and Shelf Awareness. LIBRIS representatives will be giving on-the-spot quotes for business insurance.

To receive free entry to the trade show, booksellers must register as “ABA Members” via BookExpoAmerica.com. For complete details about ABA programming at the show, visit BookWeb.org.
