ABACUS Deadline Next Thursday, July 31

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to receive a customized report analyzing your store’s financial results as well as a chance to win the Avin Mark Domnitz Scholarship to Winter Institute 10: Submit your business’ 2013 financial data to the ABACUS-13 survey via a secure and confidential electronic form by next Thursday, July 31.

The customized ABACUS report will analyze a store’s financial results, including comparisons with other stores based on multiple criteria (such as sales level, store size, and community type) and year-to-year trending information. The report will enable booksellers to focus on key drivers of profitability and to benchmark store performance across a number of different criteria.

Booksellers at participating stores can apply for the Domnitz Scholarship to Wi10, to be held in Asheville, North Carolina, from February 8 to 11, 2015, by sending an e-mail with “Domnitz Scholarship” in the subject line to ABA Education Manager Lisa Winn. The e-mail should include the applicant’s name, staff title, store name, and store contact information. The scholarship will cover the Wi10 conference fee, travel expenses up to $350, and up to a four-night stay at the host hotel, The Omni Grove Park Inn.

Instructions for participating in the ABACUS-13 Survey, the bookstore’s unique I.D. number, and links to the online submission form were sent to all ABA main store members at the end of June in an e-mail from Martha Love of the National Association of College Stores’ OnCampus Research, which is collecting and compiling the data for ABA.
