Ballot for ABA Board Elections to Arrive Monday by E-mail

All main store members of the American Booksellers Association will be receiving an e-mail on Monday, March 30, with a link to the ballot to elect a new president, vice president/secretary, and three directors to serve on the ABA Board.

The e-mail from ABA CEO Oren Teicher will also include a link to biographical information for the officer and director candidates whose names appear on the ballot.

Koehler and Welch are coming to the end of their first term on the Board and are up for a second three-year term.

The ballot also includes space for write-in candidates. Each ballot may only include one vote each for president and vice president/secretary and three votes for directors. Ballots with excess votes are invalid and will not be counted.

Balloting will end at midnight EDT on April 30. The election results will be announced at the beginning of May, and the new Board members will be welcomed at the ABA Annual Membership Meeting to be held on Thursday, May 28, from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., in conjunction with BookExpo America, at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. The Membership Meeting will be preceded by ABA’s Town Hall meeting from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
