Binc Offers Assistance to Booksellers Suffering From Lost Income

As bookstores in many regions of the country deal with the effects of severe winter weather on their businesses, the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc) wants to remind booksellers of the assistance available to help individual booksellers who have lost income due to a weather-related store closing or because the bookseller is physically unable to get to work.

The bookseller would need to have missed 50 percent of their scheduled work hours, and the missed income would need to be creating a financial hardship for the bookseller's household. In such a case, it is possible that Binc could assist with housing, utility, and essential living expenses; however, it is not Binc’s mission to assist stores directly.
