BookExpo is launching the new In-Booth Publicist Meet-Up program at this year’s trade show to facilitate conversations between booksellers and publicists from large and small publishers.

The In-Booth Publicist Meet-Ups will take place on Friday, June 1, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at participating publishers’ booths. The open house-style session will encourage discussions between publicists and booksellers and complement the interaction that occurs during the American Booksellers Association’s Publicist Speed-Dating sessions on Wednesday, May 30, and Friday, June 1.

“As we spoke with booksellers and publishers across the country about what would bring them value at BookExpo, we heard over and over that the opportunity for booksellers to speak with publicists from a wide variety of publishers would offer tremendous value in helping them better serve their community,” said BookExpo Senior Vice President Ed Several. “This is another example of BookExpo reimagining to become the place where the business of bookselling gets done in North America.”

In recent months, the BookExpo team has met with indie booksellers, publishers, distributors, and librarians to learn more about what they are looking for at the show. As a result, BookExpo has undergone a reimagination to become the place where the business of bookselling gets done in North America.

Booksellers can register for free badges to BookExpo by providing their ABA member ID number during the registration process. More information about ABA’s programming at BookExpo can be found on BookWeb.org.
