Binc Grants Encourage Booksellers to Attend Regional Shows

The Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc) has made professional scholarships available to each of the nine regional booksellers associations, which are allocating the funds to help booksellers attend their fall regional shows and other educational events. Booksellers are encouraged to visit Binc’s booth at each trade show to learn more about the assistance it provides.

SIBA is using the funds to bring a bookseller to the regional show who may not otherwise be able to attend; NAIBA is giving two frontline booksellers a ticket packet to all of the regional show’s events; PNBA is raffling off its scholarship on the show’s final day, and the winning bookseller will have their expenses reimbursed; GLBA and MIBA are each offering a scholarship for a bookseller to attend their combined show; NEIBA is creating the “How to Manage a Bookselling Career” workshop in the spring and is raffling off a spot at the session; MPIBA is sponsoring a bookseller’s trip to its regional show; SCIBA added the grant to its Glenn Goldman Bookseller Scholarship fund; and NCIBA is helping booksellers with meals and accommodations.
