Booksellers can now create their own store bingo card for Give Me Summer, Give Me Books, the national summer reading program created by the ABC Children’s Group at ABA and that is open to all ABA member stores.

This summer’s program challenges young readers to pick up a 24-space Bingo card from their local independent bookstore and then fill in the spaces when they have read books in each of the card’s various categories for a chance to win prizes.

Stores can now customize the game card by requesting access to the ABA DIY Google Group and downloading the customizable Google Drawings file. To join the group, booksellers should log onto BookWeb and submit their e-mail address. Instructions on the file page will tell booksellers how to make their own copy of the card so they can get started customizing.

Additional promotional materials and ideas to further augment and personalize a store’s Bingo game can be found in BookWeb’s Designs and Downloads.

Booksellers with questions about the Give Me Summer Give Me Books program should contact ABC Children’s Group Manager Matthew Zoni via e-mail or at (800) 637-0037, ext. 7551.
