The deadline for artists and publishers to donate art to the Silent Art Auction to benefit American Booksellers for Free Expression (ABFE) and Every Child a Reader has been extended to Monday, May 8.

The auction, to be held on Wednesday, May 31, at BookExpo, will feature original children’s book art as well as Little Golden Books Tribute art in honor of the 75th anniversary of Random House’s Little Golden Books imprint.

Information about proposed donations should be submitted via the form available here; questions about donating should be addressed to Susannah Richards, professor and children’s literature advocate.

ABA member booksellers can purchase tickets for the Silent Art Auction at $11 each, a 90 percent off the regular price of $110; booksellers must be logged in to BookWeb.org to automatically receive the discount. Discounts are also available to librarians and to friends of ABFE and the Children’s Book Council with the use of special discount codes.

National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Gene Luen Yang will chair the silent auction, where he will announce the winners of the Children’s and Teen Choice Book Awards, as chosen by young readers in voting that ends May 7.
