A24 has announced plans for the release of the film Room, based on the critically acclaimed novel by Emma Donoghue. Donoghue also wrote the screenplay for the movie, directed by Lenny Abrahamson and starring Brie Larson, Jacob Tremblay, Joan Allen, and William H. Macy. Following an opening in New York and Los Angeles on October 16, Room’s nationwide release is scheduled for November 6.

The novel, a #1 Indie Next List choice when it was published in hardcover in September 2010, will have a movie tie-in edition available in trade paperback on September 8 from Back Bay Books, and in mass market from Little, Brown on September 29.

Booksellers can learn more about the film at RoomTheMovie.com and can view the trailer here. All stores are encouraged to add the trailer to their websites, social media, etc., and all ABA member locations will receive mini posters and bookmarks in the September Red Box mailing.

If stores are interested in a standee (8' x 5'6"), banner (10' x 5'), full-size poster (27" x 40"), and/or a loop trailer on DVD to promote the film and movie tie-in publications, they should send an e-mail to Lisa Richie at A24 with the following information:

Select store locations will also be contacted by a local film company representative to talk about additional promotions.
