Memorial Service for Scott Meyer Planned for August 2

A memorial service for Scott Meyer will be held at the Millbrook School Chapel in Millbrook, New York, at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, followed by a reception at Charlotte’s Restaurant to which all are invited.

As a longstanding member of Grace Episcopal Church in Millbrook, Meyer had asked in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Grace Church, P.O. Box 366, Millbrook, New York 12545. Donations will go toward programs in youth ministries.

Meyer, the owner of Merritt Bookstore in Millbrook, died on July 19.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Alison Silkworth Meyer; two sons, Lawton and Schuyler Meyer, both of Millbrook; his brother Allen Meyer of Millbrook; two sisters, Molly Meyer of New Haven, Connecticut, and Aileen (Chuca) Meyer of Washington, D.C.; his sister-in-law, Janet Taylor Meyer of Burlington, Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews. His brother Schuyler M. (Ted) Meyer predeceased him in 2009.
