Order Now to Receive Special Indies First Publisher Offers

Booksellers should act now to take advantage of special terms from publishers who are each showing their support for the Indies First campaign in their own unique ways with offers on a wide array of frontlist and backlist titles. Visit the special publisher terms page on BookWeb to see the offers available on books ordered between now and October 31.

When planning orders, booksellers should reach out to the authors they will be welcoming for Indies First events on Small Business Saturday, November 29, to find out which titles they plan to handsell, then check the special publisher terms to see what offers may apply.

As booksellers coordinate Indies First events for Small Business Saturday, they should remember to add any activities to the IndieBound publicity map so readers can see where their favorite authors will be handselling books on November 29.

Booksellers should encourage authors to participate by sharing the Indies First letters penned by spokespeople Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer and by Daniel Handler, who announced the Upstream initiative last week to bring signed books into stores.

Remember to add any planned events to the IndieBound publicity map and to share news, events, and photos on social media, using the hashtag #IndiesFirst and linking to Gaiman and Palmer’s Twitter handles, @neilhimself and @amandapalmer.

To help in the promotion and celebration of Indies First, booksellers should be on the lookout for their Indies First Supply Package, which began mailing out this week and contains Indies First book bags and reorder forms, Indies first buttons, Indies First/Small Business Saturday bookmarks, and examples of the design files in the Indies First DIY on BookWeb’s Designs & Downloads.

Visit Indies First on BookWeb to find quick links to help stores partner with authors and create events.
