HarperCollins, Random House, and Simon & Schuster have each announced some form of expedited order fulfillment for the holiday season.

HarperCollins Holiday Express Shipping

From November 3, 2014, through January 16, 2015, HarperCollins is offering a Holiday Express Shipping program for independent bookstores in the U.S. for all HarperCollins and HarperCollins Christian Publishing titles. All qualifying orders from participating stores received by 1:00 p.m. (EST) will ship out the next business day and will be expedited. Most orders will be delivered within two business days as long as the books are in stock and the account is in good credit standing.

Random House Two-Day Transit

From November 1, 2014, through January 30, 2015, orders received in the Random House order system by 3:00 p.m. ET will ship no later than the following business day with transit time — winter weather permitting — of no more than two days from the publisher’s loading dock to an account’s door.

All Random House adult and children’s hardcover and paperback frontlist and backlist are eligible, as well as titles published by Random House clients of Penguin Random House Publisher Services.

Penguin titles are not yet integrated into the company’s Westminster and Crawfordsville distribution facilities where Two-Day Transit originates, so they are not eligible this year.

Simon & Schuster Expedited Shipping to West Coast

Simon & Schuster is teaming with Baker & Taylor to offer expedited shipping on reorders to West Coast independent booksellers from October 1 through March 2015. West Coast orders placed with the publisher will cascade through Baker &Taylor in Nevada.

For further information, booksellers should contact their Simon & Schuster sales representative.
