Publishers Weekly is seeking nominations for its annual PW Bookstore and PW Sales Rep of the Year awards, which were created more than two decades ago to honor the country’s best independent booksellers and sales representatives. The awards will be presented this spring at BookExpo America in New York City, and the award winners will be profiled in the pre-BEA feature in the print issue of Publishers Weekly magazine.

Nominees for PW Bookstore of the Year must operate a professional storefront retail bookstore in the U.S. and should excel in buying, vendor relations, marketing, handselling, customer care, community involvement, management-employee relations, merchandising, and business operations. Nominations should include a description of the bookstore’s special qualities, as well as the name, industry affiliation, and contact information of the person submitting the nomination.

For the PW Sales Rep of the Year award, booksellers are invited to nominate the outstanding telephone and in-person sales representatives they have come to rely on for information, guidance, and support. Booksellers’ nominations should include their own contact information as well as a story or example of the rep’s commitment to excellence. The judges will weigh nominating letters in their decisions.

The deadline for nominations for both awards is February 20 at 8:00 a.m. EST. Nominations should be submitted to Donna Paz Kaufman and/or Judith Rosen at [email protected] or by fax to (904) 261-6742. Candidates cannot nominate themselves, nor can their family members.
