Schedule an Advocacy Appointment for BEA

This is to remind booksellers attending BookExpo America to schedule a time to talk to ABA Senior Public Policy Analyst David Grogan at the show about any advocacy issues of concern — whether it’s minimum wage, access to capital, e-fairness, healthcare, or other public policy issues impacting their business.

Appointments for the meetings, which will take place in the ABA Member Lounge (Meeting Room 214 at the front of the “200” aisle on the Javits Convention Center’s trade show floor), are available between the following hours:

  • Wednesday, May 27, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 28, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • Friday, May 29, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Booksellers can also schedule a time to see a demonstration of the Minimum Wage Impact Calculator, a key element in the recently launched Minimum Wage Legislative Took Kit. The calculator provides ABA members with a powerful visual tool that can be used at meetings with lawmakers and others to illustrate how increasing the minimum wage affects a small business’ entire bottom line.

To make an appointment, send an e-mail indicating your preferred meeting date and time to ABA’s Grogan by noon on Friday, May 22.
