Showcase Indie Bestsellers With New Display

IndieBound has created a special, holiday-themed Indie Bestsellers display PDF, which is available at BookWeb.org

The full-color display, which easily prints on an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of paper, features 30 titles -- fiction and nonfiction, some with jacket images -- in three categories: "great gifts under $5," "affordable, memorable gifts for kids," and "great gifts under $30." All the titles were selected from the December 4, 2008, Indie Bestseller List.

ABA Chief Marketing Officer Meg Smith said that when the new Indie Bestsellers PDF is incorporated with an in-store display it "gives customers a clear reminder that books fit in well within any holiday budget and across a number of price points."

The marketing agency OgilvyAction has reported that in-store displays are a significant catalyst for purchases. Research from earlier in the year showed that 29 percent of U.S. shoppers made unplanned purchases once they entered a store, and, of that group, 24 percent said that they were influenced by in-store displays.
