With just a few days left to go until Indies First on Small Business Saturday (November 26), indie booksellers are making the most of special offers available from an array of publishers, including a particularly advantageous offer from Baker & Taylor.

Through December 3, Baker & Taylor is inviting booksellers to take advantage of a special offer on all trade books, allowing booksellers to stock up stock up in advance of Indies First on Small Business Saturday and replenish shelves afterward.

To take advantage, stores should place their orders as usual. No promotional code is required, there’s no minimum order to qualify, and there is no limit to the number of times a store can receive the discount.

“This extra margin really helps you keep focus; it relieves some of the burden of trying to scrabble everything together last-minute as you try to be the most robust store you can be for that post-Thanksgiving crowd,” said Justin Colussy-Estes, manager of Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, Georgia.

Fast shipping is also critical to Little Shop of Stories’ business. “Speed plus that extra percentage really keeps B&T central to how we operate as a store,” said Colussy-Estes. “It’s a real advantage to be able to get that inventory in quickly, but also get the same competitive terms or near the competitive terms that we’re getting from publishers.”
