The Advocates for Independent Businesses (AIB) recently launched the “Independents in the Changing Retail Landscape” survey to assess how indies are being affected by changes in the retail business environment.

AIB is a coalition of trade associations representing independent businesses, including the American Booksellers Association. ABA is urging its member booksellers to complete the survey to help AIB gather crucial data that could help the association better serve its members.

“We certainly understand that booksellers are extremely busy, but their help with this important survey is crucial if it is to provide us with valuable and actionable information,” said ABA Director of Public Policy & Advocacy David Grogan. “This survey could provide data that ABA can use to develop resources, share information with booksellers, and contribute to larger media and public policy discussions. But it won’t happen without input from indie booksellers. ABA urges booksellers to take five minutes and complete the survey.”

ABA is encouraging all member booksellers to participate in order for the survey to be as effective as possible. The survey closes on Monday, September 25, at midnight Pacific Time. The survey can be accessed here.

Booksellers who have questions about the survey can contact Grogan at [email protected] or (800) 637-0037, ext. 7562.
