Three Indie Next List Deadlines Upcoming in February

There will be three opportunities for independent booksellers to help create upcoming Indie Next Lists in February.

The deadlines are:

• February 4 -- the April Indie Next List
• February 6 -- Easter/Passover Recommendations
• February 13 -- Poetry Month Recommendations

"We are extremely grateful for all the nominations and support that we have received from indie booksellers over the past few busy months, and the wealth of outstanding fiction and nonfiction on the 2009 Indie Next Lists compiled so far is a clear sign of inspired bookseller participation," said Dan Cullen, ABA's senior director for editorial content, "but it would be great to hear from even more booksellers -- especially those who have not yet nominated to the list, or who have not nominated in a while. The more booksellers who participate, the richer and more intriguing the lists will be."

Booksellers can use the online nomination form, or they can send their nominations in an e-mail to [email protected].

Booksellers are encouraged to nominate titles that they are especially excited about handselling. Nominations don't have to be long, and can be for either fiction or nonfiction. (Staff recommendations written for shelf-talkers, store newsletters, or websites make great Indie Next List nominations.)
