Winter/Spring 2018 Indies Introduce Titles Announced, Signup Opens
Publishers are once again offering specials on 10 adult titles and 10 children’s titles chosen by panels of ABA member booksellers from across the U.S. as the top debuts of the upcoming publishing season.
The Winter/Spring 2018 Indies Introduce program features titles for adults and for middle grade and young adult readers, all publishing between January and June 2018.
Holly Alexander of The Book Stall in Winnetka, Illinois, served on the bookseller panel that selected the 10 children’s debuts. She said it was amazing to read so many manuscripts from promising new authors and to discuss their work with fellow booksellers.
“The hardest part of this experience was picking just 10 books to be on the [children’s] list, because if I could, so many more would be included. It was great to talk with other booksellers across the country and share our reading experiences. In the end, the list we decided on is the cream of the crop — wonderful stories dealing with love, friendship, family, acceptance, some magic, and so much more. But they are all books that made me feel something special,” said Alexander.
For stores that have taken part in past Indies Introduce promotions, there’s no need to sign up to take advantage of publishers’ Winter/Spring offers; however, stores that are new to Indies Introduce must complete the Indies Introduce sign-up form by October 30 in order to participate in the program.
To access the list of titles with bookseller blurbs and full details on publishers’ offers, booksellers will need a BookWeb.org login name and password. Booksellers can sign in or create a new password here (booksellers needing login information can e-mail [email protected]). The Indies Introduce logo is available for download in BookWeb’s DIY and sell sheets will be included in the October Red Box mailing.
