- W.W. Norton & Company has announced the launch of Norton Young Readers [5], the publisher’s first children’s book imprint.
- Libby McGuire [6] has been named senior vice president and publisher of Simon & Schuster’s Atria Publishing Group. Founding publisher Judith Curr [7] stepped down in January and is now president and publisher of HarperCollins’ HarperOne, Amistad, and Rayo imprints.
- Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has announced a number of promotions [8] in its sales department.
- Megan Fishmann has been promoted [9] to associate publisher and senior director of publicity for Catapult, Counterpoint, and Soft Skull Press.
- PEN World Voices Festival participant and founder of Youth Without Borders Yassmin Abdel-Magied was turned away by U.S. Immigration officials in Minneapolis, prompting a response [10] from PEN America CEO Suzanne Nosell.
