Last Chance to Get on the Indies First Map and Get Noticed! [4]

There is still time for independent bookstores participating in this weekend’s celebration of Indies First [6] on Small Business Saturday to submit their store’s plans to the Indies First Activity Registry [7] and show up on the searchable Indies First map [8].

Indies First map [8]The map, which can be found on IndieBound.org [9], allows customers to browse participating stores alphabetically by store name [10] or by state [11]. The map serves as a central source for customers, media, authors, and publishers to see what’s happening in bookstores nationwide on Small Business Saturday.

Last year, a record-breaking 563 independent bookstores across all 50 states participated in Indies First; hundreds of stores have submitted their details to the map ahead of this year’s event on November 25, but there is still room for more booksellers to submit their activities to ensure the Indies First map is as full as in 2016.

Booksellers should note that stores that provided event details for last year’s map are not automatically included on this year’s map. All event plans should be submitted through the activity registry by 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 22, so that the information appears on the map.
