ABA/Book Sense Lounge to Be Center of ABA Presence at BEA

In a break from the past, ABA's presence at this year's BookExpo America (BEA) will be centralized in the ABA/Book Sense Lounge rather than split between the lounge and a booth on the trade show floor. The ABA/Book Sense Lounge, in Room 401, will feature all the usual information and services provided at ABA's trade floor booth, as well as a place to kick back, relax, and check e-mail. The Lounge is situated close to all of ABA's educational programming.

There are just a few spaces left for booksellers participating in the Book Sense marketing program who wish to attend this year's Book Sense Book & Author Luncheon at BookExpo America. The free noontime event, which will be held on Friday, June 4, is one of the highlights of the ABA Convention and is currently almost filled to capacity. More than 30 authors whose books are past or present Book Sense Picks will share lunch with booksellers, who are sure to find this an enjoyable and inspiring event. ABA's Thursday Afternoon Programming at BEA Offers a Multitude of Choices

On Thursday, June 3, at this year's BookExpo America (BEA) in Chicago, ABA will once again hold its popular All-Day Education Program. This year, there is no additional fee for BEA educational programming, including ABA's Thursday programming, which is open to all ABA member bookstores. To qualify for the new BEA Super Pass, ABA member booksellers must check off "ABA Bookstore Member" and provide their ABA ID number under "Registration Options" on the BEA registration form.

Posters by New Yorker Cartoonists to Benefit Book Industry Foundation

At this year's BookExpo America, the Book Industry Foundation will be selling two book-related posters based on cartoons featured in The Complete Cartoons of The New Yorker, coming from Black Dog & Leventhal in September. Proceeds from sales of the posters will benefit the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (ABFFE) and the Association of American Publishers' "Get Caught Reading" campaign.
