Seven $3,500 scholarships were awarded to dependents of booksellers, and one $5,000 scholarship went to a current indie bookseller who has overcome learning adversity or is a non‐traditional student.

In situations where weather, illness, or an accident disrupts a bookseller’s ability to make a living, the Book Industry Charitable Foundation will help with both business and personal expenses.

The campaign by the Book Industry Charitable Foundation aims to get at least 50 booklovers from across the country to join its current list of 222 monthly sustaining donors.

The 2019 scholarship program was revised this year to support booksellers’ dependents, spouses, and partners in pursuing their higher education goals.
