Colgate Bookstore in Hamilton, New York, will participate in Hug a Book Week, from September 6 – 14, to encourage a love for reading and to raise money and support for local literacy programs. 

Booksellers at all ABA member stores now have until next Wednesday, September 10, to place their orders for additional copies of the 2014 ABC Best Books for Children Catalog.

The Magic Tree Bookstore was recently honored with a proclamation from Oak Park, Illinois, which recognized the 30-year-old indie for its service to the community and for introducing children to a lifelong love of reading.

Presented here by category are the more than 200 titles featured in this year’s ABC Best Books for Children Catalog.

Jennifer Longo is the author of Six Feet Over It, a Summer/Fall 2014 Indies Introduce New Voices pick for young adults.

As a benefit of ABA membership, booksellers have unlimited access to all session videos and handouts from 2014’s ABC Children’s Institute, as well as handouts and select videos from Winter Institute 9 and other educational resources.

Orders for additional copies of this year’s ABC Best Books for Children Catalog must be placed by September 1 via BookWeb’s online order form.

Dana Alison Levy is the author of The Misadventures of the Family Fletcher, a New Voices pick for middle-graders that Sara Hines of Eight Cousins calls “a laugh-out-loud story of a patchwork family that balances zany antics with heartfelt moments.”

Readers who preorder signed, personalized copies of Alan Gratz’s The League of Seven from Malaprop’s Bookstore/Café will receive a specially printed, numbered chapbook featuring a short story prequel to the trilogy.
