More than 50 bookstore owners and event managers gathered this week for the NAIBA/NEIBA “All About Events” retreat to discuss why booksellers should host events, how to work with publicists and authors, and the importance of publicity kits and author request grids, among other topics.

On Monday, April 20, Vroman’s Bookstore will host an afternoon education session and tours of the store for ABC Children’s Institute attendees.

Forty booksellers have been named the recipients of scholarships to the April 19 – 21 ABC Children’s Institute, to be held in Pasadena, California.

The Bookstore Training Group of Paz & Associates will be offering a weeklong retreat for new and prospective bookstore owners from April 13 – 17, 2015, on Amelia Island, Florida.

Registration for the 2015 ABC Children’s Institute is expected to reach maximum capacity within the next couple of days. Booksellers who would like to attend should register now.
