This Coffee Break has been programmed to focus on wage and labor requirements for bookstores as some states place COVID-19-related quarantine mandates on people entering from out-of-state.

The August 6 virtual forum, a non-hosted event without an ABA facilitator or staff person, is intended to offer a meeting space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color booksellers.

Independent Bookstore Day will take place on Saturday, August 29.

Jay Manuel's tour launches on August 3; booksellers interested in hosting an event should contact Wordeee. 

Over the course of two days, booksellers joined together for education sessions, keynotes, rep picks, and virtual hangouts to celebrate children’s books and bookselling.

The panelists discussed how they develop store voice using social media.

Guest speakers included Ebony Elizabeth Thomas, Dhonielle Clayton, and Tracy Deonn. 

During the conversation, Alexander and Craft reflected on the importance of bookstores in their lives and their careers.

Swag packs with buttons, window clings, and more will be sent to all bookstores that register by August 1; T-shirts should be ordered by July 18.
