Lambda Literary Foundation Announces 2002 'Lammy' Finalists

Finalists for the 15th Annual Lambda Literary Awards, honoring "the best and the brightest" in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered publishing, have been announced by the Lambda Literary Foundation. The finalists in 20 categories were chosen after a rigorous selection process. Awards will be presented at a gala banquet at BookExpo America in Los Angeles, May 29, 2003.

Outwrite Bookstore and Coffeehouse -- Serving the South's Gay and Lesbian Community Books, Coffee, and More

The decade-old Outwrite Bookstore moved from a small space in a midtown shopping center to an old disco in the center of a gentrified, historically gay and lesbian neighborhood in Atlanta. The store doubled its size, to 3,000-square-feet, and created a vibrant place to gather, drink coffee, and buy books and gifts -- from morning until late at night.

Finding a New Definition for Crossover in Gay and Lesbian Publishing at BEA

Gay and lesbian publishing has come a long way in recent years. Now, more then ever, referring to a title as a gay and/or lesbian book is often an inadequate description, just as someone’s gay or lesbian identity doesn’t fully define who he or she is. Lambda Literary Awards Finalists Announced

The nominees for the 14th annual Lambda Literary Awards have been announced. The awards will be presented on May 2 at a ceremony in New York City. In addition, the Lambda Literary Foundation's Jim Marks told BTW that the comic and writer Margaret Cho will be presented the Bridgebuilders Award "for her ability to help bridge communities."
