Bookseller nominations for the program, supported by $250,000 of author James Patterson’s personal funds, will be accepted until September 30.

This year’s campaign is open to all U.S. independent bookstore employees through September 30. In 2018, Patterson will donate $250,000 to make the holiday season brighter for bookstore employees.

Following the announcement of the author’s Holiday Bookstore Bonus Program, ABA CEO Oren Teicher thanked Patterson for his efforts in championing indie bookstores.

The program invites booksellers, publishing professionals, authors, or bookstore shoppers to share why they think an indie bookstore employee should receive a holiday grant.

Today, James Patterson announced his 2018 pledge to independent bookstore employees: a personal contribution of $250,000 as part of his Holiday Bookstore Bonus Program.
