Limiting Product Availability to Specific Ingram Warehouses

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version
This feature allows your store to alter the availability of books on your website based on which Ingram warehouses have the product in stock.

Limitations of this feature:

  • This feature is not recommended for stores that rely on CDF (the "Send to Ingram" button).  Limiting the warehouses will only make it harder for customers to order. (CDF shops all warehouses, regardless which ones are available to your store.)
  • Inventory numbers for Ingram may be different on IndieCommerce than what you see in iPage.  The reason for this is that IndieCommerce uses data for Ingram's CDF program.  Quantities available for CDF may be different than quantities available to order by bookstores.
  • This feature is intended for stores who do their own fulfillment.

How to use it:

  • Visit Store > Configuration > Ingram Warehouse Settings
  • Limit your enabled warehouses
  • Change Disabled Warehouses Behavior to "Hide from Stock Info and Change Availability On Site"

How it works:

  • IF a book is on hand at your selected warehouses, availability status will remain "Usually Ships in 1 to 5 Days".
  • IF a book is not on hand, but is on order at your selected warehouses, availability status will become "Backordered".
  • IF a book is neither on hand nor on order at your selected warehouses, availability status will become "Special Order".
  • (Remember to check your settings for how Backordered and Special Order statuses are handled.)
  • When signed in as an administrator, you can scroll down to the "Admin Product Details" for any book and see the following information:

    • Ingram On Hand - All Warehouses - the quantity on hand at all of Ingram's warehouses
    • Ingram On Order - All Warehouses - the quantity on order at all of Ingram's warehouses
    • Ingram On Hand - Your Warehouses - the quantity on hand at the warehouses you have chosen
    • Ingram On Order - Your Warehouses - the quantity on order at the warehouses you have chosen
