In-Person, Real-Time IndieCommerce Training

November 18, 2015

Live Training at Winter Institute

Four members of the IndieCommerce team will be in Denver for Winter Institute 2016, and rather than hold a general IndieCommerce Users Group as we’ve done in years past, we will be offering one-on-one consultations. A sign up form will go live during the first week of December. We will remind you about the form before then, and email Winter Institute attending IndieCommerce stores directly, but make a note to look on BookWeb.org. Appointments will be scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, January 24, and the mornings and afternoons of Monday, January 25 and Tuesday, January 26, 2016

Also at Winter Institute—Tell your bookseller friends considering an ecommerce site to come to the Introduction to IndieCommerce session on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 - 10:00am to 11:15am.

Almost Live Training at Your Desk

Thanks to everyone who answered our survey about webinars. Not surprisingly, stores did not want to be tied to webinar dates for December. Many stores offered good topic suggestions, which we will address in 2016.

Questions about your site don’t stop in December, of course, so instead of formal webinars we will hold a series of open Q & A hours on GoToWebinar. No registration is required! The Q & A’s will take place on each Tuesday at 11 am ET and Wednesday at 2 pm ET, from 12/1 through 12/16.

We will post the link and webinar code the day before on this BookWeb.org sign up page.

For recordings of past webinars please visit the IndieCommerce Webinar Center on BookWeb.org.

Have Your Customers Been Using Advanced Search?

On November 3, advanced search was automatically enabled for all sites. To create a link to it from a menu on your home page, link to “/search/advanced_search.” If you do not want advanced search on your site, please let us know and we can disable the module.

With advanced search, your customers are able to locate books by a wide range of attributes, including publisher, price, age range, publication date, availability, and more. In total, about 25 different attributes are searchable.

Thanks for reading. Feel free to email us at [email protected] with any thoughts, questions, or suggestions.
