Help Us Help You

ABA is soliciting member feedback about online marketing and e-commerce needs. Please complete this 4-question survey by Wednesday, April 19th, Noon EST to help us formulate programs and priorities moving forward. The results of this brief, anonymous survey will be reviewed by the fifteen booksellers on ABA’s Digital Task Force later this month.

If your store has a website of any kind or engages in any type of online marketing, we really want to hear from you!

Questions about the survey, the Digital Task Force, or e-commerce should be directed to IndieCommerce Director Phil Davies.

ABA Toll-Free Number Out of Order

You may have noticed that ABA’s toll-free number is not working. A few weeks back, we switched to a new phone system and during the transfer, a problem occurred with the toll-free number that we are still trying to resolve. If you need to call us, please use (914) 406-7500 - option 2 or send an email to [email protected]

Changes to Your Outgoing Website Email Address

When a customer places an order online IndieCommerce websites automatically generate a “transactional email” and send it to the customer confirming that their order has gone through.

Internet service providers are becoming much more sensitive about the delivery of email for order confirmations, user registrations, password resets, contact forms, wish lists, etc. To conform to industry standards, we are making changes to the “from” email address that is attached to the emails your store sends. In the near future, the “From” and “Reply-To” addresses for your website’s transactional emails will look like this:

And also…

In the coming weeks you will notice the addition of a reCAPTCHA widget on your site to ensure that people, not bots, are signing up for your emails, setting up accounts, or otherwise submitting forms. No more spam emails!

Watch the message center for updates and timing on both of these changes.
