IndieCommerce & IndieLite Email Upgrade
IndieCommerce and IndieLite websites currently send around 25,000 website generated emails a day. These include email order confirmations, cancellations, form submission, updates related to online sales and many other types of email generated by each website. To send these emails we use an email service provider that specializes in sending these types of emails.

IndieCommerce and IndieLite have grown and Internet standards have evolved over the past few years. Our email requirements have also evolved to meet the needs of our members and their customers. Unfortunately, our current email provider has fallen short of our expectations over the past few months, during which IndieCommerce has generated an unprecedented amount of transaction related email.

As such, we are moving to a new email provider. We’ve been testing this new service for several weeks now and have been very pleased with the results. You should notice no difference in the operation of your site or the appearance of your emails (please let us know if you do!). We will be fully migrated to our new provider by the end of this week (8/7/20). The new email service provider should significantly reduce the instances of delayed emails to your customers.

This change will only impact email that is sent by your website. It will not have an effect on your email newsletter or any other email lists that your store manages or sends outside of your IndieCommerce or IndieLite website. If you have any questions, drop us a note at [email protected]

Thanks for reading. Feel free to email us with any thoughts, questions, or suggestions.
