The summer of Drupal 7 has been both interesting and informative. I want to thank the IndieCommerce team and the many individual store contacts who have worked hard to identify and squash bugs, discover surprises, and help ABA appreciate the many ways in which stores use their websites.

8/6/2014

Beginning today Group 3 stores may request a Drupal 7 site.  Any store in Groups 1, 2, or 3 that is ready to begin the transition should reply to this email and let us know.

All Group 1 and Group 2 are now invited to request a Drupal 7 site.  If you feel that your store is ready to begin the transition, please reply to this email with your intentions.

As mentioned in the June 4th issue of IndieCommunication, our team has defined a list of steps and procedures for Drupal 7 migrations.

Essentially, there are two stages of the upgrade:

The IndieCommerce sessions held at BEA last week were well attended. Thanks to all those booksellers who took time to visit the ABA Indie Bookseller Lounge to learn about the upgrade.

As promised, for those unable to join us, all the documents that were presented at the sessions have been uploaded to the IndieCommerce section of Designs and Downloads on BookWeb.org.

As noted in last month's issue of IndieCommunication, all IndieCommerce stores have been assigned to their upgrade group based on site development and other factors.

Because the upgrade from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 has a lot of moving parts of interest to users, we have set-up a variety of ways to share the information you need to know. These include the IndieCommunication updates, twice weekly conference calls, an upcoming series of webinars, and in-person sessions and one-on-one meetings at BookExpo America.

4/16/2014

In order to ensure that members have multiple ways to learn about platform upgrade news, beyond email blasts and newsletters, we will be holding a regular series of conference calls hosted by Technology Director Neil Strandberg.

The IndieCommerce migration from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 is a significant undertaking, one that affects every IndieCommerce store. The last six months have been devoted to planning both the strategy and logistics for executing the move. Here's what is going on now:

BookExpo America (BEA) is fast approaching-the show is Wednesday, May 28 to Saturday, May 31-and we hope that you or someone from your staff is planning to attend. Everyone at IndieCommerce looks forward to meeting with so many of you face-to-face at the show. This year, we strongly encourage that you send the employees that are most involved with your IndieCommerce site.
